Ingredients (for about 30 cookies)

  • 250 g wheat flour (or freshly milled soft wheat flour)
  • 125 g butter (soft)
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch of salt

Preparation

  1. Cream together butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla.
  2. Add flour and salt and knead into a soft dough.
  3. Wrap dough and chill for 30 minutes.
  4. Roll out to about 4 mm and let the kids cut out fun shapes.
  5. Bake at 175 °C (350 °F) for 8-10 minutes, until the edges are golden yellow.
  6. Let cool and decorate as desired – or simply enjoy plain!
