Simple, delicious & perfect for little hands
Butter cookies are easy to make – even with little kids. The dough is soft, rolls out easily and is ideal for cookie cutters. While the cookies bake, the cozy sweet scent fills the home – instantly bringing the Christmas spirit into the air.
Ingredients (for about 30 cookies)
- 250 g wheat flour (or freshly milled soft wheat flour)
- 125 g butter (soft)
- 100 g sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pinch of salt
Preparation
- Cream together butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla.
- Add flour and salt and knead into a soft dough.
- Wrap dough and chill for 30 minutes.
- Roll out to about 4 mm and let the kids cut out fun shapes.
- Bake at 175 °C (350 °F) for 8-10 minutes, until the edges are golden yellow.
- Let cool and decorate as desired – or simply enjoy plain!
