Einkorn contains more minerals and amino acids than wheat. Its yellowish coloris obtained by Einkorn due to its high yellow pigment content of beta-carotene.
Einkorn is a very delicate grass plant with three to eight ear-bearing stems. This makes it one of the smallest grain kernels. The Einkorn developed in the Orient and reached Europe via ancient trade routes. Subsequently, it was displaced by spelt and wheat. Einkorn is characterized by a particularly creamy, nutty taste. The soft grains can also be chewed raw.Einkorn can be easily milled with your Salzburg grain mill. With the Salzburg flaker, you can press Einkorn into perfect flakes without them crumbling. Pancakes, cakes, and breads turn out excellently. Einkorn is not recommended as a binder, e.g., for dumplings.
