How to save time when cooking (part 1)

No matter what stage of life you are in, it can always happen that you simply do not have enough time to cook yourself a good and wholesome meal.
What you can do to save time when cooking, so that the “quality” of the dish does not suffer and you still eat healthy, we show you in today’s post. How to save time when cooking (part 1)

  • Stock up: To save yourself another shopping trip and get right to cooking, it’s beneficial to already have a certain stock of food at home. There are some things that can be stored for a very long time such as legumes, pasta, rice or other cereal grains. Certain nuts and seeds/seeds can also last a while.
If you are the owner of a
    Salzburg flour mill
the flour can already be pre-milled (for the next week, for example). And if you want to bake your own bread, you could also bake two or three loaves at once. Depending on consumption, part of it can be frozen.
Likewise, some other foods can be stored well in the freezer . For example, vegetables or berries, which are not available at any time of the year, can be kept frozen for some time and are therefore always ready to hand.
  • Keep dishes simple: A lunch or dinner doesn’t always have to be totally elaborately cooked. Keep your meals simple, because even with few ingredients or just one course instead of three, you can eat well and wholesomely. A tip would be, for example, so-called One-Pot-Meals, where you prepare your dishes in only one pot / one pan.
  • Collect recipes and ideas: To avoid spending tons of time looking for a suitable recipe before cooking, collect a few recipes in advance. With a certain “repertoire” of recipe ideas, you’ll find it easier later to listen to your appetite first and then just get cooking. In your own recipe booklet, you can also collect dishes that you have already tried and that you know will turn out quickly and taste good.

And next week, we’ll share even more tips with you on how to save time cooking! See you then!
