2 Corn

Normal edible corn, as is common in Austria or Germany, can be ground with the hand mills. However, it is more energy-intensive. There are many different types of maize. In Italy in particular, there are very old, particularly hard varieties, some of which we know cannot be ground. Unfortunately, we cannot test and list all types of maize.

What you cannot grind:

In general, no oil-containing seeds can be ground, such as:

  • Linseed
  • Mustard seeds
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Poppy seed
  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Nuts
  • Almonds

You cannot grind due to the consistency:

  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Tea
  • Blossoms
  • Leaves
  • Buds
  • Grasses
  • Sprouts
  • small timbers
  • Dried small fruits and berries
  • Chestnuts
  • Various cores

It is not recommended to grind coffee. Color and odor penetrate the grindstone, cleaning is very difficult. If you only want to grind coffee, please get in touch with us
