Detoxify your body in spring
With the onset of spring, nature awakens from its winter sleep and looks like freshly washed. Not only do lovers feel invigorated, but our bodies “pull out” as well. We had a slower metabolism in the winter, but it picks up in the spring. This allows more metabolic products to be eliminated, which has the pleasant side effect of making the body fit for the active year.
The organs of metabolism
The human body has various functions to absorb all the important nutrients and drain off anything unnecessary. This is called the metabolism. Organs such as the liver, intestines and kidneys have priority here, but the lymphatic system, skin and lungs also make their contribution to purification. The abundance of elimination pathways is invaluable, as each substance is assigned a different pathway. However, because modern people exercise far too infrequently and lead extravagant lifestyles, these natural processes slow down. They can be supported by high-energy fresh plant tinctures or fasting cures
Tinctures for metabolism
To help you maintain a healthy and active metabolism, we have selected six from the multitude of fresh plant tinctures that we would like to briefly introduce to you:
1. lazy tree
The rotten tree is a common shrub in Europe that gets its name from the foul odor its bark gives off. The fresh plant tincture from the bark aids digestion and can be used as a laxative. It also stimulates the elimination of metabolic products, which helps in purification.
2. dandelion
The dandelion is found not only in the salad. Its tincture acts as one of the most powerful metabolic activators. It stimulates liver function, which causes fat-soluble substances to be excreted. It also stimulates the flow of bile and promotes the excretion of water-soluble substances through the kidneys. Thus, it connects two central metabolic organs and increases their activity.
3. nettle
for bladder and kidney. Nettle is considered to stimulate the metabolism, diuretic (draining) and promote blood circulation.
It is rich in flavonoids as well as its relatively high content of minerals such as potassium.
Nettle tea from leaves and herb is thus suitable as a water excreting agent (diuretic), for example, to flush the bladder and urinary tract in inflammatory diseases.
Often nettle tea also supports the treatment and prevention of kidney gravel.
4. juniper berries
Juniper promotes digestion and urination. You can also try juniper for heartburn. The berries have a supporting effect in rheumatism and gout therapy.
On the first day of your spring cure, chew 1 dried juniper berry (possibly from the supermarket or pharmacy) 3 times a day until it tastes slightly sweet, and then swallow it. Increase the number of berries daily by 3 times 1 berry at a time – up to 3 times 15 berries per day and then go “backwards” again. Finish the cure on the 30th day, again with 1 berry 3 times a day.
5. chamomile
Chamomile is a very versatile medicinal plant. Its antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory and diuretic action supports the digestive tract and kidney activity. In addition, it has a calming effect on the nervous system, which leads to a healthy sleep – crucial for the regeneration of the body.
6. artichoke
The noble vegetable artichoke is a real all-rounder! Its ingredients strengthen digestion and the hepatobiliary system, positively influence lipid metabolism, protect and detoxify liver cells, reduce oxidative stress and promote the smooth functioning of the liver and gall bladder. This allows fat-soluble substances and residues to be reliably eliminated.
What else can be done
Drink at least two liters of still mineral water or herbal tea per day to provide your body with enough fluids. Avoid taking chilled drinks, as they inhibit metabolism and make the purification cure less effective. A classic fasting week with high-quality fruit and vegetable juices is suitable as an introduction to a purification cure and to relieve the digestive organs. In order to prolong the effect of the fasting week, it is recommended to continue taking fresh plant tinctures for another two to three weeks.
A new beginning
Leave winter behind and mentally prepare for spring. Take more time for rest and relaxation. Indulge in relaxing walks or do yoga, meditation or other relaxing exercises. If you like, you can accompany your time out with light music, but also enjoy moments of pause in silence. Purification cures offer a good framework for reorientation, whether smoking cessation or more sports activities are planned. Take advantage of the positive effects of detoxification and feel liberated and exhilarated to get going in a new direction.
