The Christmas holidays are over and many of you may know this: one celebration after another and it is eaten well and a lot. After that, you’d probably rather eat something light and wholesome again. We have for you a dish suitable for the season with spelt meal.
Spelt meal can be easily made with our Salzburger grain mills in the Coarse setting very easy to make yourself.
ingredients
- 1 Savoy cabbage
- 150 g spelt meal
- 150 ml water
- 1 onion
- 150 g feta cheese
- Rapeseed oil
- Salt, pepper, parsley
preparation
First boil the spelt meal with the water in a pot and let it cook for another five minutes. In parallel, cut the onion and fry separately in a little rapeseed oil. Then add the onion to the spelt meal and cook together for a few more minutes.
Next, blanch 10 large savoy cabbage leaves. That is, put the savoy cabbage in boiling water for about 2 minutes. Be careful – it should not become too soft.
Now cut the feta cheese and also add it to the spelt meal and onion. Finish with salt, pepper and parsley.
Now put the filling in the savoy cabbage leaves and roll up. To prevent the rolls from opening, you can either hold them together with toothpicks or a thin thread.
Now you can put the savoy cabbage rolls into the steamer for about 15 minutes (please coordinate with the steamer and the programs). You can also bake them in the oven at 170°C for about 25 minutes. For the latter, it can taste very good if you put the savoy cabbage rolls in tomato sauce in a baking dish and only then put them in the oven.
