Useful tips for baking beginners – Part 1

Today we want to show you how easy the beginning of baking can be. Not everyone is born as a master baker. But as a nice saying goes, practice makes perfect. And who said that the beginning should be difficult? We’ve summarized useful tips for baking beginners for you:

  • Enjoyment and motivation in baking is the most important thing: With an optimistic attitude, baking beginners also succeed with new recipes.Useful tips for baking beginners - Part 1
  • Do not have too high expectations: Baking beginners should start with simple recipes as e.g. buns or crispbread. For bread with sourdough you need experience, but in the end, these are also very easy to bake.
  • Do not despair if something does not work out: As already mentioned, practice makes perfect. A “failed” attempt offers the opportunity to learn and to change it for the better.
  • Develop your own “favorite recipe”: Every person is individual and so are the tastes. Home-baked bread, buns or cakes can taste differently and maybe even better than bought bakeries. And if you bake, then there are no limits to your culinary preferences.
  • Take your time: In order for the baking to succeed, you should take your time. Maybe it helps you too, if you start the dough the night before. The weekend can be a good time for baking together with your children or friends.
  • Obtain information: Find out the benefits of home-baked bread and pastries. Find out the difference between white flour and whole wheat flour. The more information you obtain, the easier it is for you to get into the baker’s life. Maybe one or two articles from our blog can help you here >>
  • Pay attention to the amounts of flour and liquid: With each recipe, it may be that the indicated amounts of flour and liquid do not fit exactly. This is because the fineness of flours can vary. How finely ground whole wheat flour is, depends on the mill and the adjustment. When baking bread, it may therefore be that you also need to add some flour or liquid.

This was the first part of our useful tips for baking beginners. The second follows and in the meantime we wish you good luck with baking!
